Daniel is Uversity’s first Government of Ireland Scholarship recipient. He is a interdisciplinary artist and graduated with a BA from Cleveland State University in 2015. Daniel has an interest in theatre and studied at University College Dublin and the National College of Art & Design during his first semester taking modules in Writing for the Theatre, Research and Analysis in Drama and Performance, Contemporary Art Practices 1: Discourse, Art in the Contemporary World, Situations: Bowie, and Lingua Franca. For his second semester, Daniel moved to the West of Ireland, taking a practice based module ‘Performance Lab’ at NUIG. He has thoroughly enjoyed the experience of living in a cottage in a Gaeltacht region in the mountains of Connemara.
Daniel secured an internship with Fishamble: The New Play Company during his first term through his creative mentor, Jim Culleton and worked as Assistant Director on a production entitled ‘MAINSTREAM’. He also performed two work in progress versions of his own piece ‘Odysseus Unraveled’ at the O’Donoghue Centre for Drama and Performance at NUIG with trailers for the work available to view here: Trailer 1 & Trailer 2.
Daniel was selected to attend the Kammerspiele Student Showcase in Munich in March 2017 and was awarded a bursary to cover travel and accommodation.
He has also been a guest lecturer at NCAD for the ACW Masters Program and UL for the Festive Arts MA Program.
Daniel has made the most of his time here in Ireland immersing himself in the vibrant and currently rapidly expanding and exciting Irish theatre scene attending many festivals and numerous performances at the Dublin Theatre Festival, Dublin Fringe, The Abbey and The Gate.
